Pep Guardiola sends warning to Chelsea over Sergio Aguero transfer interest

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has insisted Sergio Aguero belongs at the Etihad amid speculation Chelsea are expressing a keen interest in the forward.

Aguero has scored 169 goals in 253 appearances for City since his £38million move back in 2011 but the 29-year-old found himself out of Guardiola’s starting XI following the arrival of Gabriel Jesus in January.

Reports suggest Antonio Conte had been weighing up a move for the Argentine striker before the Premier League champions secured a £70m deal for Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata this week.

However, with Diego Costa certain to leave Stamford Bridge in the coming weeks, Chelsea may still be tempted to bring in another attacker before the 2017/18 campaign gets underway.
On the recent rumours linking Aguero with a move away, Guardiola said: ‘You know my opinion on Sergio.

‘I said many times last season and he’s our player. He will remain here.’
